1Our Origin

The seed for Fishwife was sewn in 2015 when our CEO and cofounder, Becca Millstein, was living abroad in Spain and was inspired by the vibrant and delicious culture around Spanish and Portuguese conservas. She believed there was a home for equally high-quality, ethically-sourced, delicious tinned fish back home in America.

2Our Mission

Five years later, Fishwife was started in 2020 by Becca and Caroline Goldfarb with the mission to make premium, sustainably sourced, and delicious tinned seafood a staple in every cupboard. Here’s Danny “Danbo” Miller, our beloved illustrator, who has been working on Fishwife since the day one.

3Sourcing

We began building our supply chains by looking to partner with the most skilled canners as well as responsibly managed fisheries and farms around the world.

Over our five years in business, this has led us to six incredible canneries across Washington State, Spain, Denmark, and Scotland.

We source our fish and seafood from Marine Stewardship Council or Aquaculture Stewardship Council certified fisheries, as well as Fishery Improvements Projects on the path to certification.

We believe that great tinned fish is the easiest way to get delicious, high-quality protein into your diet.
